Overview
This guide is designed to explain what Field2Base (F2B) Diagnostics are and how to send one from your iOS Device.
Understanding Diagnostics
A Diagnostic is a package of logs and local data from the Mobile Forms app installed on a Device. It is encrypted and packaged up just like any other Sent Form. Once the Diagnostic has been created, it is automatically uploaded and routed as an e-mail to the F2B Technical Support Team for further review.
A Diagnostic’s main purpose is to provide critical information to the F2B Technical Support Team when they are troubleshooting issues that occur when using the Mobile Forms app or within the F2B system as a whole.
Note | Keep in mind, a User would not typically need to send in Diagnostics unless asked to do so by a F2B Technical Support Team Member. |
How to Send a Diagnostic
To send in a Diagnostic from your iOS Device, please follow the directions below.
- First, navigate to the General Settings section.
- Tap on the Mobile Forms option near the bottom of the screen.
- In the Mobile Forms Settings section, toggle the switch that says Send Diagnostic On Launch to enabled (see Note below).
- Once you have enabled Diagnostic Sending, launch Mobile Forms.
Congratulations! You have successfully sent a Diagnostic!
Note | Once you have sent a Diagnostic, the Send Diagnostic On Launch switch gets reset. This is so the User does not continue to send Diagnostics every time they open Mobile Forms. To send in another Diagnostic, you must flip the same switch mentioned in step 2 again before opening Mobile Forms. |
